Cyberpunk 2.0 - we succeded with letting the information free, now we need to mix it into the bubbles!

... Have you noticed we are exactly in an internet Renaissance period? :O 

It seems just like nobody in media have, or the implications of that. So they are only surprised that things are unravelling. :P 

Well, when you have read this page, you will never need to be surprised again. You will know the elements of the future. 

But first, high time to learn two specific skills from the past. 
1) *practicing* de-escalation, and nonviolence.

2) *practicing* understanding the opponent - to create the smart and creative *synthesis* with his view, and reach a lasting agreement to make you BOTH proud. This is evolution.

Thats all. That will take us into the coming Internet Enlightenment safely. Without bloody revolutions needed. <3

Now expanding a bit on these: 

1) de-escalation, and nonviolence.

Deeply and radically - since even if you should learn and mentally prepare to actually fight, too - to lessen yuur fear and think better even then - you always need this too - to minimize the fighting, and manage to getting over it afterwards.

2) curiously asking and understanding your opponent without judging, and where she and her ideas actually COME from. Because her lived experience while growing up, role models, and unspoken truths are *radically different than yours*, and you need to learn them too to understand and develop compassion! Or violence WILL ensue in the end.

(Note this: Compassion is needed to be able to UNDERSTAND the opponent. Which is needed both to protect yourself from her, to subdue her, if that proves to be the ONLY option, and to negotiate. It is NOT weakness, its STRENGTH. If you have trained your inner warrior too. ) 

Also consider this: living under constant economic stress lowers your IQ 10-20 points. 
So you have the power to MAKE them less susceptible to bad ideas, just by giving them money! :O Society can PAY them into better moral understanding, and better scientific and logic one too. Understanding the point of more complex ideas, so they can be implemented! That is as least HALF the entire case for a left-wing distribution policy. It makes the entire people SMARTER - so they can think  better when they chose policy. 

And can learn respectful debate, them too. Its actually no harder than thinking together when fixing a car engine, really. <3

Now, welcome to the optional "why" part. 

Is this renaissance good or bad? Basically good, people have been learning and trying such a LOT of fun and fantastic stuff! :D 
But renaissances get violent after a while, when people get polarized and radicalized by the ever present info bubbles  - we called it "group think" before social media, and its a thing that must ALWAYS be checked! :O 

Violent, because people have also learned dueling. ("debate" dueling with words, mostly, yet.) But not yet learned to hold a peaceful, genlemanly, dialectic, socratic debate. That you win TOGETHER, by combining your experience to reach an even better conclusion. 

This is how debate should and must be! NOT a stupid wrestling fake death match where nobody listenes! :( We pioneers have mostly learned this. Now everybody must. Actually. Or refrain. 

Fun fact: "Idiot" is actually a greek word for people who cant do this. It doesnt meen stupid - just one-eyed and not listening. 

.... And some Machiavellis have lenarned to control peoples attention far too well. Hi, Steve Bannon! :P  Aint if fun that YOU showed up exactly like the Joseph Goebbels of our time! (but all the ad business knows and uses Goebbles principles, too! No wonder you get disgusted by them sometimes. They will HAVE to be limtited and reined in, so we are not wading in a world of half-.lies or worse, seeping in through our peripheral vision like subliminal advertizing (which is prohibited because of its effectiveness.) This is actually proper brain wash. Not LIKE brain wash - its actually the real thing.

That is why we get so radicalized. :(  ) 

Why do I tell you this? 

I was one of the internet pioneers. :O The original cyberpunk generation, driven by William Gibsons phrase "information wants to be free!"

I worked at Opera Software in Linköping, Sweden, when we, Google, Mozilla, and Microsoft standardized the building stones of the internet. We envisioned much of the web as it has come to be taken for granted now, and much more. So, let me tell you: We're far from ready yet! :D 

The first age of the Internet is now over. Everyones on the web, a natural part of everyboys life. Social media have been a commodity, the investors have demanded their money back - which requires massive "monetization", and focus shift from doing the best possible for the users, to doing the worst possible for them and the best possible for the ad and propaganda business. This process has aptly been named "enshittification" by pioneer and veteran blogger and writer Cory Doctorow.

We predicted this, and were worried. But we also knew that as long as the web remains FREE, it will always be possible to build alternatives on, to compete the crap out of the "enshittified" services, (as the  aptly named this process - do read his books! <3 ). And working together with anti-monopoly lawmakers to keep the competition and the web open. 

Because on the web, the competition actually WORKS, since its cheap for anyone to start doing better - the very goal for the open source movement. 

But the forces of unfair competition (hi Elon Musk!) are now trying to disrupt government, and stop the regulation of the market.  WE CANNOT ALLOW THAT! 

It WILL begin a process of subverting the web to the will of the superrich.

By controlling the implicit truth in most peoples bubbles. By crowding out the truth there with stupid, irrellevant stuff to keep our minds always occupied with, and us always angry over. 

Because anger is a powerful way of making you far less intelligent, continously, every day! And you occupying with reflex reactions. So you never come arount to reach out to each others and collaborate, and to be a threat to them, ever again. 

And THIS cant be. 

It will end very badly, just as we are seeing the first very alarming signs of from the US now. 

Because... the polarization and radicalization from the last renaissance ended up in... the french revolution. And then 150 years of bloody wars and revolutions until things finally settled somewhat. 

THATs why. 

And, it's very unneccessary to repeat that. We just have to learn the right things from now on, for a while, and practice the things i mentioned. 

All of us. 

And remind each others when we slip up, as we will. Friendly. With compassion. These is HARD things to learn! but a necessary and very worthwhile challenge, that will make you grow!. So, dont condemn. Just remind.
